Two mismatched LAPD detectives, Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover), are forced to team up to investigate a dangerous drug-smuggling operation. Murtaugh, a seasoned family man nearing retirement, is paired with Riggs, a reckless and volatile cop still grieving his wife’s death, making for a tense partnership. As they uncover a larger criminal conspiracy, they must put aside their differences in order to survive.
