The film follows a young woman named Arletty, who travels to a small coastal California town in search of her missing father. The town, shrouded in eerie quiet and inhabited by strange, nocturnal locals, quickly becomes a nightmarish setting. As Arletty uncovers disturbing secrets about the town's past, she encounters a group of outsiders who are also investigating mysterious happenings. Together, they begin to realize that something ancient and malevolent is taking hold of the residents, leading them toward a terrifying fate.
