ONYX AFTER HOURS Friday 11/8 @ 10 PM: Natasha Lyonne stars in this indie cult classic about queer love and the artificiality of heteronormativity. BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER follows Megan (Lyonne), a high school cheerleader whose friends and family suspect she's gay, despite her being unaware of it herself. They send her to a conversion therapy camp called True Directions, run by Mary Brown (Cathy Moriarty) and “ex-gay” Mike (RuPaul), where teens are trained to embrace traditional gender roles and heterosexuality. As Megan begins to question the program’s methods, she also starts to understand more about her own identity, forming unexpected connections with others at the camp.
